What is up familia!

I know, kinda dumb to say hi now but by the time I post these…. I’ll probably already be home lol. Buuuut i wanted to write this all down as I went along.

Currently, we just left Eswatini and are in South Africa for a few days before heading back to the states!! YAY! I cannot wait to go home. Yes, I absolutely love being here and on the race but as I’ve said before, I am so excited to see my family again!

Anywho, this last month has been so sweet. We’ve continued spending time at carepoints and we actually got to do an extra day of “ask the Lord” in town each week which has been a blast. a) it was nice to mix it up a little and b) it was fun to get more comfortable going around town and getting to know locals and having them recognize us.

As we got to go to town more, we all got familiar with locals around town and they all began to recognize us! It was so cool! Or like we all knew where the local laundromat was or we could say to meet up at KFC and we all knew where to go. Even more fun, several of us were friends with the security guards at KFC!! In fact- one of my friends set up several bible studies with the guard, AND a regular customer weekly. Super sweet, they developed great relationships and I got the opportunity to meet them once, too. They were so kind.

I am still in awe of how welcoming Swazis are. We were there for just 2 months and absolutely felt like we were at home by the time we left. Several of us plan on going back soon, even just to revisit some old friends. Wow, they were so sweet. I was “adopted” by like 20 Swazi women in my time there. My most memorable interaction was with an adorable woman named Glennrose. My first time meeting her she opened up to me about her testimony of how she met the Lord way back in the 70’s, and then continued about her daughter trying to pursue a scholarship for school and asking for prayer that she’d get it. She named me “Lenhle”, I promise it’s not pronounced anywhere close to what you’d think haha- I couldn’t even type it out if I tried.

It was hard to say bye to her, but I’m thankful that I got the chance to get to know her, she said I always have a place to stay

with her 🙂

Ministry Application: Ministry in Eswatini felt the most casual to me. Not in any bad way to the other countries, I just mean that it felt a lot less structured and we had much more freedom to be spirit-led and I felt like I learned how to follow the Lord and look for more casual opportunities that I’d experience at home in the States. From my ministry experience there, I feel more prepared to look for divine appointments from the Lord, and for my day-to-day lifestyle of interacting with people to be intentional.
