Heyyy friends and family! How are y’all doing?? I’m not sure when you’ll get to see this blog because I’m going to post it in a bundle of 5… so whenever that gets done I suppose 🙂

At this point I am in Africa, about a month left. We have been here for a month and got to see our parents and J squad!! It’s been a really sweet time and an exciting time as I look ahead to the last 2 months of the race.

Its been really really sweet, we spend almost every day at carepoints (a place for kids to come and have a meal and play with friends, there is also a preschool there and a program that helps pay for school for the older kids), and the kids are getting comfortable with us for sure. They’re little menaces, for sure, but at the same time some of my favorite little people.

I’ve made some friends here, one is a 7 year old boy named Gift, he lives near the carepoint and have many brothers and sisters, living with his mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa 🙂 He’s a sweetie. We hangout most days.

Another one of my friends, I’ll be honest, they have some very difficult names to pronounce, but she wears a pretty purple princess dress every day so I call her Purple Dress. She’s only 4 or 5 and just the cutest ever.

Something that has been so sweet that I’ve learned from hanging out with these kids is how easily they are willing to accept love. Yeah, the first few times we came it was pretty scary because we were new and weird looking- trust me I get it. But soon after that they were more than happy to jump into our arms, take naps on our trust, or let us lift them up onto the monkey bars and they trust that we won’t drop them.

I admire this trait of theirs greatly in my own walk with the Lord. I’ve known Him for years, He created me from nothing, and I don’t even know what else- OH He saved my life! But yet- I still neglect to accept His love more times than not. Of course, I’m learning, but it’s a long process for me and seeing how quickly those kids were willing to sleep on me for hours, it was just a huge motivator in me and my walk 🙂

Relationship with Christ– I have learned so much from these kids alone about what it means to trust more in the Lord and be willing to accept His love as well as pass on His love unto others in the same ways. When I picture God’s love, I see their little faces and just their content expressions to just be spending time with me. I think of these when I am spending time with the Father and am trying to focus solely on Him. Not coming with an agenda, not wishing I were somewhere else, but when I just come into His presence and sit with Him and enjoy just resting in His arms.
